We’re contacting town and parish councils in Somerset to let you know that The Discovery Community Fund is currently open for applications. You can use these grants (money that does not need to be paid back) to make what you already do more accessible, inclusive and welcoming.
Adults with learning disabilities and autism are often prevented from taking part in things that many of us take for granted. This is because they face barriers that others don’t always see.
These grants are available now, and are being made from the Discovery Community Fund, which is managed by us.
Inclusion Grants
Grants of up to £10,000 to break down the barriers that adults with learning disabilities and autism face when taking part in community life. We want these grants to help open up places, spaces and services that they have in the past found difficult to access. Find out more and apply here.
Please share this email with anyone you think may benefit from this funding, especially those people in your community involved in running groups, so everyone knows that this funding is available.
The funding will be available to apply for throughout 2022, with decisions made every 8 weeks. We may close the fund earlier if we receive a lot of good applications.
More information about these grants is available on our website here. If you need advice or support then please contact Andy Ridgewell, who works for Somerset Community Foundation. It’s usually best to email him andrew.ridgewell@somersetcf.org.uk to ask a question or to arrange a time to talk.
